That’s why we take time to understand how you use the space, protect your property while we work, and obsess over the details you’ll notice every day, as well as the ones you won’t!

With over a decade of experience, we’ve nailed down the process of delivering high quality resin driveways, paths and patios. From survey and ground works to foundations, edging, resin application and a careful handover, our whole process is both thorough and transparent, so much so that we’ve explained each step for you below:

Site Survey

We visit to measure up, check access and understand how you use the space.

We assess:

Levels & falls: Proper levels and falls protect your home and neighbours from the effects of standing water by making sure water runs to suitable areas or drainage.
Existing surface & sub-base: We look for movement, cracks and soft spots. This tells us whether an overlay is viable or if a new base is needed for longevity.
Soil & ground conditions: Clay, chalk and soil each behave differently; this affects excavation depth and foundation design.
Thresholds & damp-proof course (DPC): We keep finished levels below the DPC and align neatly to garages, steps and pavements to avoid trip points and damp issues.
Services & utilities: We take time to locate covers, cables and pipes so that they remain accessible and undamaged.

Once we’ve checked it all over, you’ll receive a fixed written quote that itemises ground works, edging, chosen blend and any drainage items, so you know exactly what’s included and why.

Ground Works

Good ground works are the backbone of a long-lasting resin driveway.

Our Process:

Set-out & protection: We mark edges, protect walls/landscaping and plan material movement to minimise disruption.
Excavation: We remove the existing surface to the agreed depth, disposing of spoil responsibly. Correct depth gives room for a stable foundation and the finished level you want.
Sub-grade preparation: Any soft spots are dug out and back-filled with compactable material. Treating weak areas prevents future dips and cracking.
Geotextile: Where needed, a strong fabric is placed between the soil and the stone layers. It stops tiny soil particles from mixing into the stone, so your base stays stable and drains water properly.

Thorough prep spreads loads evenly, keeps the surface smooth and protects the resin layer from cracks, ensuring your driveway is built to last.

Foundations

The foundation build-up is tailored to your property and whether full permeability is required.

Our Process:

Sub-base: We install a well-graded, compacted stone layer to create a stable platform. For permeable designs, we use a free-draining build-up that allows water to pass through; for non-permeable designs, we use a dense, well-compacted build-up that focuses on strength. Layering and proper compaction are key to long-term performance.
Base layer: Depending on conditions, we add a robust, even base of tarmac or concrete to carry vehicle loads and keep the finished surface smooth. The exact specification is chosen to suit your ground conditions, traffic, and drainage goals.
Drainage provisions: We install channels, soakaways or interface with existing gullies where needed. Getting this right stops standing water and winter freeze–thaw damage.

The foundation carries the load. A correctly designed base is the difference between decades of service and early failure.

Edging and Detailing

Neat, secure edges frame the driveway and hold the resin in place.

Our Process:

Function: Edgings provide a physical restraint so the resin thickness is consistent right to the perimeter; they also define borders and curves and add a fine finish to the driveway.
Edging options: We provide a range of options for edging, including aluminium for a crisp modern look, or brick, stone and kerb units for traditional boundaries.
Design touches: Contrasting borders, feature bands or radius curves add kerb appeal without compromising performance.
Thresholds & interfaces: We detail garage thresholds, utility covers and pavement ties so transitions are flush and water-tight.

Resin Application

We use UV-stable resin with washed, dried aggregates, mixed and laid on site.

Our Process:

Blend selection: Chosen to complement your property; we can adjust texture by aggregate size for a balance of smoothness and grip.
On-site mixing: Precise ratios ensure strength and uniform colour. Consistency avoids patchiness and weak spots.
Trowel application: Laid to an even thickness across the prepared base, then closed with skilled trowelling for a seamless finish.
Anti-slip finish: Once the resin is laid, we apply an anti slip coating as standard to keep you on your feet, rather than on your toes.

Why it matters:

Correct materials and method deliver a porous, durable surface that resists UV discolouration and day-to-day wear.

Curing and Handover

Once installation is complete the resin will take some time to cure and we carry out some final steps.

Our Process:

Quality checks: We inspect levels, edges, joints and drainage, and tidy the site.
Cure times: We’ll assess the temperature and humidity on the day and let you know how long this will take. Light foot traffic is typically allowed after the initial cure and vehicle traffic once fully set.
Care guidance: We’ll speak to you directly to provide advice on how to care for your new driveway and keep it in top form.
Aftercare: We’re just a phone call away for advice and can arrange future cleaning/top-ups of anti-slip if needed.
